Once you have enrolled and log in to a two-step login enabled service with your UMass NetID and password, you will be prompted for an additional authentication factor by any of the following methods you choose:
- A phone call to your landline phone or mobile phone.
- A push notification or a passcode via the Duo Mobile app on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.)
- A text message (SMS) to your mobile device.
Two-step login will initially be implemented on the UMass Human Resources Peoplesoft applications (HR Direct) on August 1, 2017, and other IT select services in Fall/Winter 2017.
All users of HRDirect should sign up for the two-step login service before December 2017, to help protect their sensitive information.
Additional updates will be provided as part of the planning and implementation process for each service.
