The Assistive Technology Center (ATC), located on the Lower Level of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library in the Learning Commons, offers instruction, training, and support for assistive technology tools to any member of the University community.

UMass Amherst IT's Assistive Technology Center to Become the Digital Accessibility Center

The change in name reflects a realignment of the Center's services to meet evolving campus needs for support, particularly around website accessibility and procurement assessment of digital platforms.

The ATC provides a workspace and access to specialized software, equipment, and tools to improve the campus experience for the entire campus community, including:

A 6 seat computer lab located in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library (Lower Level), open whenever the library is open
Access to screen reading software, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, note taking software, and other assistive hardware and software
Consulting & support services available by appointment.
Website accessibility audits using SiteImprove (for UMass hosted websites). To set up a website audit please email @email to start the process.
