UMass Amherst IT's Assistive Technology Center to Become the Digital Accessibility Center

The change in name reflects a realignment of the Center's services to meet evolving campus needs for support, particularly around website accessibility and procurement assessment of digital platforms.

The ATC provides a workspace and access to specialized software, equipment, and tools to improve the campus experience for the entire campus community, including: 

  • A 6 seat computer lab located in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library (Lower Level), open whenever the library is open 
  • Access to screen reading software, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, note taking software, and other assistive hardware and software
  • Consulting & support services available by appointment.  
  • Website accessibility audits using SiteImprove (for UMass hosted websites). To set up a website audit please email @email to start the process.
