The 2016 Rudd-REFCA Conference - New Worlds of Adoption and Foster Care: Thriving on the Frontline is now accepting applications for poster and presentation submissions. Conference attendees are invited to submit an application to present a poster or a 20-minute oral presentation featuring their research or programs. Posters and presentations may highlight adoption or foster care research that has not been presented previously, or they may be about innovative programs or projects that would be of interest to the audience.

Poster and paper submissions will be evaluated by a panel, who will consider the following:

  • Content relating to adoption and/or foster care
  • Clarity and merit of the abstract
  • Relevance for the target audience of adoption or foster care-related practitioners and researchers

When you apply, you will be asked whether you prefer to do a poster or an oral presentation. The selection committee reserves the right to make the final decision about format, depending on the submitter’s preference and the needs of the overall program.

Posters will be tacked on bulletin boards at the beginning of the day between 8:00-8:30 a.m. Between 8:30-9:00 a.m., the break following lunch, and during the closing reception, poster presenters will stand by their posters and be available for discussion with interested others. Tables, audio-visual hook-ups, and electrical outlets will not be available for poster presentations.

Submissions will be accepted beginning: November 1, 2015

Submission deadline: December 11, 2015

The conference is organized by the Treehouse Foundation and the UMass Rudd Adoption Research Program in partnership with the Boston College School of Social Work. Conference registration opens January 2016, and scholarships are available. Please visit the conference website for more information.
