Do you want your research to increase momentum toward a sustainable and equitable energy transition? Are you seeking new collaborators and opportunities to advance interdisciplinary research on clean energy topics?

The Energy Transition Institute (ETI) is hosting a dialogue for UMass Amherst researchers to meet, learn about each other’s work, and generate creative ideas. Using a World Café format, we will form small groups to brainstorm possibilities and harvest our collective wisdom. This event is co-sponsored by the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR).

Agenda
1:30pm Welcome
1:45-3:00pm Round-table discussions in groups of 4-5 people
3:00-3:30pm Harvesting and refreshments

Why should I attend this event?
In order to tackle the complex challenges of the energy transition, experts across disciplines need to connect on topics of energy technology, climate resilience, and social justice. Calls for proposals on energy research have begun requiring interdisciplinary teams. UMass Amherst already has world-class researchers working on sustainable energy as well as racial and economic justice. This networking event is an opportunity for these researchers to meet colleagues from around campus, learn about each other’s expertise, and identify potential for collaborating.

What is ETI?
The Energy Transition Institute leads stakeholder-engaged research and education at the intersection of energy technology and social equity. Our network of researchers spans 50+ departments and programs across UMass Amherst, including Engineering, Humanities and Fine Arts, Management, Natural Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. ETI research activities include the NSF-funded ELEVATE program, which offers fellowships to PhD students doing convergence research across disciplines on clean energy, equity and climate resilience.

What is ISSR?
