Do you want to deepen your understanding of the statistics behind the methods you use in your research?  So do we! We invite to join our Statistics in the Social Sciences Reading Group (SSSRG). This is an interdisciplinary group of faculty, post-doctoral scholars and graduate students who gather to discuss a methodological topic based on group interest. We welcome participants from all disciplines!
We invite you to join us! In Spring 2019, meetings will take place twice per month on Fridays from 12:00-1:00 in Machmer E23 on the following dates: 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/22, 4/5, 4/19.
Spring 2019 Topic: Discussions the coming semester will be focused on Structural Equation Modeling in the social sciences. Topics of interest may include: covariance analysis, factor analysis, latent variable modeling, modeling simultaneous equations, and causal inference in statistics. The direction of the discussions will also be informed by interests of those in the group.
This group is a collaboration between Statistical Consulting and Collaboration Services (SCCS) consulting center in the Department of Math & Statistics, the consulting centers at the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR) and the Center for Research on Families (CRF), and the Computational Social Science Institute (CSSI)
