Social network analysis is a trending method to understand the relationship between various objects, including the relationship between people, between firms, and between groups. This workshop is designed as an introductory course to social network analysis geared towards individuals who wish to become more comfortable exploring the field of social network analysis. Participants will be familiarized with the concept of the social network before learning techniques for creating a network object in R and also plot a network. A previous experience importing data to R is highly recommended.  

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1) Understand the definition of the social network
2) Understand both qualitative and quantitative approaches toward social network analysis.
3) Build a network object in R and add attributes to the network.
4) Create a social network graph.
