Instructor: Eric Griffith
This workshop will cover the basics of how to get started using NVivo. It is targeted to new users of NVivo who have little or no experience with the software. This hands-on session will focus on bringing data into NVivo, organizing it, and beginning to code.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own computers with NVivo 12 installed, but ISSR laptops will also be available for use on a first-come, first-served basis (reserve a laptop when you register for the course).
What is NVivo? NVivo is a qualitative data management software that offers a platform to organize, analyze, and parse through large amounts of qualitative data of all kinds—from interview recordings and field notes to video and images. Want to learn more about what the software can do? Visit The QSR International web page.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Navigate the NVivo workspace
- Create a new project in NVivo
- Import documents
- Create nodes
- Code data to those nodes
- Create links, memos, and annotations
