Getting Started with Structural Equation Modeling

Friday, March 14, 2014 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm

This is an introductory workshop to the basics of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), including understanding what SEM is useful for and how to interpret SEM reports. The workshop will use LISREL as its analytical software.

Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) enables researchers to conduct analyses for testing a priori model, such as confirmatory factor analysis and mediation analysis. Designed for individuals without prior experience with SEM, this workshop will give a preview about SEM as a statistical technique for data analysis. We will discuss what SEM is, its characteristics, and what it is useful for (and what it is not useful for). This workshop will also introduce participants to the basics of interpreting an SEM report.
