E20 Machmer Hall | UMass Amherst

We regret that this workshop has been canceled due to campus closure.

Do you wish that you had been taught how to work with research assistants? Register for ISSR sessions meant to help you get off to an excellent start with summer or Fall RAs.

Aligning Expectations 9:30-10:30

Are your research assistants on the same page with you? In this session, learn how to design and communicate clear goals for your research project, while also learning to listen to your RA's expectations. This session will help align expectations between you and your RA.

Fostering Independence 10:45-11:45

Do you wonder how to increase your RA's ability to work independently? This session allows you to consider how you define independence, explore strategies to develop independence, and create an environment that allows RAs to work more effectively.

These sessions will be led by Joya Misra, Director of ISSR and Professor of Sociology and Public Policy at UMass Amherst, and NRMN Trained Mentor Facilitator.
Please note, you may register for either or both of the sessions, at the posted RSVP link.
