Ember Skye Kanelee is a PhD Candidate in the Sociology Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her B.A. from Brooklyn College in 2013, her M.A. from UMass Amherst in 2020 and the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship in 2014. Her current research focuses on gender and organizational theory, combining ethnographic observations and in-depth interviews to explore how gender operates within the physical, male-dominated field of firefighting. 

At ISSR, Ember specializes in qualitative research methods and qualitative data analysis software, including NVivo.
