Ashley Carpenter

Ashley Carpenter is Ph.D. student in the Higher Education department at UMass-Amherst. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from University of Missouri – Columbia, and her M.A. in American Culture Studies from Washington University – STL. Her research interests include minortized communities, pre-college programs, retention, access/equity, and culturally sustaining pedagogies. Her dissertation explores marginalized students (i.e. students of Color, first-generation, low-income) who participate in pre-college programs, and their transition from high school to college.
Ashley specializes in qualitative research methods and NVivo software training.
