Hello everyone,

 

My name is Margaret and I am a senior double majoring in Music Education and History, with a minor in Spanish. My favorite part of studying in Salamanca, Spain in summer 2022 was forging close friendships with the other students I met there, and exploring museums and historical sites together across the country such as Casa Lis, Torre de Hercules, and La Sagrada Familia. Studying in Spain was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life; I can not emphasize enough how my adventures abroad have forever changed my perspective on everything from what the ideal speed of life is, to what the best ways to live sustainably are, and of course to the correlation between having a mechanical bull and a successful business establishment. For anyone considering studying abroad, I urge you to take the leap. No matter where you travel to, you’ll have strong support from UMass and your residency staff each step of the way. Whether your goal is to master a new language or to get to know the iconic international landscapes and structures from your favorite books and movies, cultural immersion is the greatest teacher.
