CIS Abroad: Semester on the Italian Coast - Sant'Anna Institute

Hi everyone! My name is Paige McNeil, and I am a junior here at UMass majoring in both Psychology & Sociology in the Honors college. I studied abroad during the Spring semester of my sophomore year, 2022. I spent my semester in Sorrento, Italy–a coastal town along the Amalfi Coast. Despite the nerves that flooded me before setting off, I can say with confidence that it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! My experience abroad was nothing short of fulfilling, exciting, and amazing–and as one of your Peer Advisors I want to encourage and inspire you to make the jump overseas. I am an open book, and am more than happy to share stories, offer advice, and help anyone considering studying abroad with their questions or doubts. Although it may seem scary (which is completely normal!), I am here to make this process as smooth and as positive as possible. It is an incredible opportunity filled with learning, traveling, friendships, and memories to last a lifetime.

If I leave you with one message, it would be to DO IT! You got this! You will not regret it one bit, I promise!
