Ali Wolf

University of Queensland Exchange, Australia

Hello! My name is Alessandra, I am a senior sociology major, education minor, and public policy certificate holder. I studied abroad last spring at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. This picture of me is on a train, exploring the world’s oldest historical rainforest, not far from the Great Barrier Reef. My favorite memory while abroad was snorkeling in the reef with a friend from Germany I met at my exchange university. We took a 10 day trip together across northern Australia.

I am glad I took the time to not only research my university but the area I was in. I loved living in a city with lots of green spaces and being close to amazing food markets and museums. Studying abroad helped me realize how important friendship, and living in nature is to me. I’ve opened up and grown closer to my loved ones, adopted new hobbies, and better managed life’s stresses since coming home.  I recommend to anyone traveling abroad to be open to new experiences and reflect on them-give yourself time and space to explore new ways of living and studying and decide what is fulfilling for you.

Whether you are looking to study in Australia or not, come ask me any questions or talk through your concerns! Studying abroad is a life-changing experience, and I am here to help you find the program that works for you.

I particularly can help with:

  • concerns around making new friends/managing relationships (especially long-distance dating or close family relationships)
  • finding housing
  • choosing/balancing excursions and academics
  • safety concerns
