Center for International Education
The Center for International Education (CIE) engages in implementation and research activities in international development of educational institutions and systems-especially in conflict or crisis contexts. CIE works to provide professional development and capacity building, education policy and leadership, nonformal and popular adult education, higher education, and internationalizing U.S. education.
Scholars at Risk
UMass Amherst is a proud member of the Scholars at Risk Network, an international network of dedicated higher education institutions (members) and associations (affiliates) dedicated to protecting scholars and promoting academic freedom around the world.
Through its sustainability working group, the International Programs Office recently received a “Green” office certification through the UMass Amherst Green Office Program, which encourages and facilitates energy and waste reduction practices in offices across campus.
The CASSIE Program
UMass Amherst is a collaborator in the CASSIE program led by the University System of Georgia (USG) in coordination with the Institute of International Education and funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s International and Foreign Language Education Office.
