About Me
Hello! My name is Michael Jones, and I am a junior pursuing a dual degree in Biomedical
Engineering and Nursing. I studied abroad in Nicosia, Cyprus, during the Spring of 2024. I was
a part of the Global Semesters social media intern team. In Nicosia, I befriended locals, drank
lots of espresso, swam in the bluest of waters, explored ancient ruins, listened to lots of greek
artists and so much more. One of the highlights of my time in Cyprus was making friends from
all over the world who will forever be a part of my life.
Studying abroad in Cyprus was a transformative experience for me both personally and
professionally. I connected with incredible people from diverse backgrounds and enjoyed
exploring the beautiful landscapes, from the Mediterranean beaches to the troodos mountains to the narrow city streets of Nicosia.
If you’re contemplating studying abroad, I highly encourage you to take the leap but more
importantly don't overlook a country that you've never heard of. I'm so glad I didn't. Abroad is
more than just a fun trip away from home. It's a valuable opportunity to challenge yourself,
grow, and create lasting memories. Moving abroad is scary and nerve racking even for a
student like me who was beyond excited and overprepared. Embrace the change and embrace
the unfamiliarity by being whoever you want to be. You are making a new life that will forever
change you. I can't wait to hear more about your abroad dreams
