Clinical Associate Professor Raeann G. LeBlanc and IDEAS Educational Developer Joan Giovannini have been accepted to the Open Education Network’s Certificate in Open Pedagogy.

LeBlanc was an early adopter of online instruction and sees great promise in open education in the healthcare sphere and community.  LeBlanc has created and participated in the integration of digital storytelling in nursing education, including playing an active role on the Nurstory project, Reckoning with Racism in Nursing Project, and creating supplementary teaching workbooks.

Giovannini wrote Children, Families, Schools, and Communities and co-authored and edited Introduction to Curriculum for Early Childhood Education, both open education resources.

LeBlanc and Giovannini are excited to collaborate in this nine-week intensive course and bring their shared vision of open pedagogical practices to UMass.
