About

The I-Corps @ UMass Amherst mission is to help research teams to transition their technology concepts into the marketplace. We provide state-of-the-art training, mentoring, and modest funding to teams that join one of our cohorts. Participating teams may receive up to $2,000 to support key project efforts, including:

  • Training in the Lean Launchpad methodology, commercialization, and startup development
  • Hands-on experience identifying opportunities and conducting customer discovery interviews

Teams that successfully complete the I-Corps @ UMass Jump Start program and conduct at least 10 customer interviews may begin the application process for the national NSF I-Corps Teams Program, which includes $50,000 to support additional training and customer discovery.

More detailed information on the training program and an FAQ are available.

Interested but not sure you are ready? Contact us to find a time to discuss and join our email list so we can keep you in the loop, invite you to occasional events, and support development of your team.
