Please join us for the first in a series of talks to assist UMass Amherst faculty and students interested in creating a startup. This seminar will introduce some of the many resources available to UMass Amherst Faculty and Students to get their innovations onto the road to commercialization. With representatives from Technology Transfer Office, the Office of Research Compliance, IALS Venture Development, and the UMass Amherst I-Corps Site, this comprehensive seminar will orient you to the people and offices on campus that can help you. Hear from a UMass Amherst faculty founder about their experience working with these some of resources.
Learn how each of these organizations protects UMass faculty, students, and intellectual property and fits into the startup creation process. Ask questions about how to submit an invention disclosure, manage potential conflicts of interest, navigate export control, or put in place a non-disclosure agreement. Make connections now so that you understand these processes and know the right person to contact at the right time.
