Cleaning Up Lithium-ion Battery Manufacturing
Amel Energy, an IALS Collaboratory occupant, is building batteries better for the environment. Current lithium-ion cathode manufacturing uses toxic and polluting chemicals. The platform, AmeLion , is cheaper, non-toxic, and performance-enhancing. AmeLion enables a circular domestic supply chain for cathode active materials due to the water-solubility of their binder.
