Current Research
Our lab is committed to developing strategies that predict, manage, and mitigate skeletal fragility in patients at risk for bone fractures. In particular, we are interested in identifying the clinical and pathological characteristics associated with disease progression and risk of skeletal events in advanced cancer patients, developing multi-scale models that are appropriate for evaluating changes in bone quality and mechanical integrity due to tumor invasion, and determining the underlying mechanisms by which oncologic therapies affect the skeleton.
