Embr Labs partnered with professor Mike Busa and his team in the Center for Human Health and Performance to develop a breakthrough feature for the Embr Wave wearable device. Busa’s group conducted a large-scale study with over 60 participants, capturing around 1,000 hot flashes using advanced skin monitors. Their analysis revealed early physiological signals—such as spikes in salt and moisture—occurring up to a minute before symptoms were noticed. Leveraging this data, Busa’s team created algorithms that predict hot flashes with 69% accuracy about 17 seconds in advance. This innovation will enable future Embr Wave models to deliver automatic cooling relief without user intervention.
