IALS Showcase-Research Image Competition
Have a great research image?
Image Competition extended until April 30.
We are looking for research images to be displayed in the IALS Showcase at the Science & Engineering Library (SEL) during the Spring 2020 semester. In addition to the showcase, the images will be used on our social media channels, websites, digital displays, marketing materials, as well as hung throughout the Life Science Laboratories.
As soon as we receive the submissions they will be posted on our Instagram channel. We are going to let our social media followers be the judges! At the end of the showcase the three images with the most likes ♥️ will be announced. So get everyone you know to follow us @UMassIALS.
What should the image be?
The image submitted can represent your work either concretely or abstractly. Perhaps it is an image of your research itself, an activity related to your research, or the impact of your research. “Research” is defined broadly to include creative and scholarly work in all fields.
[Technical Requirements: You must be the creator of the image. You are responsible for ensuring that any images that you might use in the creation of your image either fall under fair use or that relevant permissions have been sought and any necessary release forms have been signed. The submission form will require you to verify that you have all necessary permissions to share this image.
Images should be the best quality image that you can provide. Please make sure your image file meets the following requirements: Your image must be in TIFF, JPEG, EPS or BMP format and must be at least 3MB, but no more than 50MB. If your file fails to meet these criteria, your submission may be rejected or we may ask for changes before accepting your submission.]
What should the caption be?
Please include a caption that helps the viewer to better understand the image, and the affiliation to IALS, ie. research themes/centers and/or core facilities.
Submission deadline: April 30, 2020.
Winners will be announced sometime in May. Details TBD.
Three prizes will be given to the images with the most likes on IALS's Instagram.
First: $500 core credits
Second: $300 core credits
Third: $150 core credits
All prizes include a $50 UMass Dining card, and are sponsored by the IALS Centers–Models to Medicine Center (M2M), Center for Bioactive Delivery (CBD), and Center for Personalized Health Monitoring (CPHM).
