Advance your Research and Creative Work to Address Unmet Individual and Societal Needs

2024 Seed Round Closed

Thank you to all the faculty that have submitted a proposal for the Translational Seed Awards. Our reviewers are in the process of reviewing each proposal and we will have final decisions in early December.

Funding for these awards is provided by the Manning/IALS Innovation Program and the U.S. National Science Foundation Accelerating Research Translation Program (award #2331351), both of which are designed to help advance UMass Amherst translational and applied R&D through the development of startup companies, social impact ventures, out-licensing of UMass IP, or other appropriate vehicles.

If you are interested in hearing more about IALS or to join IALS, UMass faculty are welcome to join at any time by submitting an IALS membership form found on the IALS website: Joining IALS.

If you are interested in submitting an LOI for next years Translational Seed Award of up to $100K, messaging will go out in the spring, or you can email ask-ials@umass.edu and let us know to add you to the email list.

Sponsors

Significant funding for this opportunity comes from a gift by the Manning Family Foundation, the US NSF Accelerating Research Translation program, and the Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS) Seed Fund program.
