Department of Biology | College of Natural Sciences | BS '21

In his lab, Ryan worked on a lot of sample preparation. He also prepared biological and material polymers on the ultramicrotome, a device which cuts ultra thin sections to go into the transmission electron microscope. Ryan also dabbled around some industry projects and worked on the atomic force microscope, which measures the topography of different materials.

Just seeing what makes up the bigger picture--it's incredible. There's another miniature universe down there.
