On August 15, we brought our DNA samples to Genomics Resource Laboratory for sequencing, and the Director, Dr. Ravi Ranjan, gave us wonderful training. He taught us how to prepare the samples before loading them, showed us every detail about how to prepare the sequencing reagents, and told us in which steps we should conduct carefully. One day later, we got the sequencing data, and the results were very good. We really appreciated his help."

Our group does not have any previous experience with NGS and we were working on a customized library. Dr Ravi Ranjan, the director of Genomics Resource Laboratory had given us comprehensive advice on the library prep. He also helped us with the troubleshooting and worked closely with us to improve the quality of our data. We really appreciate his professional assistance."

Over the past few years, the Genomics Resource Laboratory has helped me with two sequencing projects, both yielding very good results, and we are currently working on our third project. Dr Ravi Ranjan, the director of the facility, has been more than helping in going over the project with us, training us with the instruments and always delivering good quality sequencing results. We really appreciate his professional assistance and thank the core facility for this wonderful platform."

The GRL was an excellent resource for my lab's sequencing projects. Ravi helped troubleshoot amplification and sequencing issues with us, and spent countless hours assisting and advising us on our project to get the maximum amplicon concentrations. The GRL went above and beyond to make sure our pilot data got sequenced in time for use in grant proposals. The facilities are all very clean and organized, and the GRL also provided great assistance with using their laboratory equipment. I think they are a great genomics resource for UMass and we will continue to use them for our future projects.

Dr. Ranjan ran several whole genome sequencing projects at the UMass Amherst IALS Genomics Resource Laboratory for me, including optimizing a protocol with zebrafish samples. He was very knowledgeable in explaining all of the options available for a project, and was very responsive to emails and in providing feedback on the project as it progressed. I'm really glad that Dr. Ranjan and this core facility are here at UMass!
