CPHM Sleep Theme Seminar

CPHM Sleep Theme Seminar

Title: The Science of Sleep: An overview
Presenter: Rebecca Spencer
Summary: Sleep has become a hot topic - from research funding opportunities to media attention to commercial devices. Recent research linking sleep to neurodegeneration, cognition, and immune function in conjunction with a societal epidemic of sleep loss, justify the attention to sleep research. At UMass, we are well-situated to have a significant impact in this field. The purpose of this talk is to provide a crash course in sleep research, giving an overview of the basics of sleep science, that can give researchers foundational knowledge and confidence to tackle sleep- and sleep-related research questions.
