X-Ray Scattering
Rigaku XtaLAB PRO MM007 Xray diffractometer
The XtaLAB PRO MM007 is designed around the popular HPAD (hybrid pixel array detector) technology. This system is configured with a single wavelength rotating anode X-ray sources making it suitable for a wide range of sample types, from inorganic structures to organic compounds and MOFs.
The detector, based around the latest HPAD advances, greatly expands the capabilities of the systems in terms of speed of data acquisition and more accurate measurement of weak data. The standard detector in the XtaLAB PRO series is the PILATUS3 R 200K, that is based on the same technology adopted by synchrotron beamlines around the world. The outstanding characteristics of these detectors ensure that every XtaLAB PRO diffractometer will produce the best data possible for the X-ray source selected.
Rigaku BioSAXS-2000 small angle x-ray scattering system
Rigaku's BioSAXS-2000 SAXS is based on a patented two-dimensional Kratky design, that is mounted on the open port of a Rigaku rotating anode X-ray generator. This takes full advantage of existing infrastructure. The BioSAXS-2000 is equipped with the new OptiSAXS optic, a doubly focusing multilayer optic whose focus is at the detector, a PILATUS3 R 100K. The OptiSAXS provides better than twofold improvement in flux compared to its predecessor resulting in higher brilliance at the sample position and data collection times in the range of minutes. The BioSAXS in the Biophysical Characterization lab has:
- Automated sample stage with 1 capillary cell, 2 stationary steady state cells and one powder standard position with support for 8 or 96 samples
- Automatic Analysis Pipeline (AAP) based on ATSAS, the world’s most popular SAXS analysis software developed at EMBL Hamburg.
- Simultaneous SAXS and WAXS measurements in a single image (qmax = 0.65 Å⁻¹)
- Installed on the open port of the existing generator
- Point focusing optics eliminates smearing issues common to traditional Kratky cameras
- All system components are motorized for control from control computer
- Photodiode beamstop for intensity measurements and sample absorption correction
- Sample temperature control included with system
- 2D Kratky collimation allows one to achieve low q measurements with no realignment
- SAXSLab data collection and processing software
