This year’s open enrollment for the USA/MTA/NEA Sick Leave Bank is from October 1, 2014 – October 31, 2014. Enrollment in the Sick Leave bank is voluntary.
The Sick Leave Bank was created to provide income replacement to a member who is disabled from performing his or her job and is intended to be used for a short-term and non-work related illness/injury.
The Bank is intended for use in instances where a member has a reasonable expectation of returning to work and consistently perform the job from which he/she became disabled. It is not intended as a substitute for, supplement to, other income sources (e.g. long-term disability).
