University Human Resources is offering zoom workshops on “Retiring from the State Employees’ Retirement System” through Workplace Learning & Development (https://www.umass.edu/wld/workshops). These meetings cover the:
- MA State Employees’ Retirement System (MSERS): pension options, retirement application, MA State Retirement Board retirement checklist and application process
- Impact of retirement on benefits including information in the MA Group Insurance Commission (GIC) Retiree Benefit Decision Guide
- MSERS retirement frequently asked questions
- The GIC Employment Status Change Form (Form 1a) that those retiring must submit either online through MyGICLink or hard-copy through UMass Amherst Human Resources

The Board also offers an online pension estimator which is helpful when considering the impact of different retirement dates on a pension.
