I’m from Leeds Massachusetts and am a Junior Public health and Philosophy dual major in the 4+1 accelerated B.S/ M.P.H program. After I returned from the Emerging Scholars study abroad trip summer of my first year, I began doing research Sophomore year with a CHC Murray professor—focusing on social epidemiology, labor policy, and health policy. At the same time, I started the Community Scholars Program and began service-learning work at the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts in Springfield. This year, I’m writing my thesis on my work in Springfield and doing an independent study in health economics. I’m also volunteering for the newly formed Academic Public Health Volunteer Corps. As well as being a CHC ambassador, I’m a resident assistant in Oak hall.
