Are you interested in studying abroad but put off by the possible expense?

UMass Amherst’s Office of National Scholarship Advisement (ONSA) invites you to attend a virtual Gilman International Scholarship Info Session on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 12:00-1:00 p.m., led by ONSA’s Gilman advisor Mujtaba Hedayet. During this Zoom session, you will learn all about the Gilman, including how to apply, key deadlines, and required documentation.

The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides up to $5,000 to undergraduate students who plan to study abroad during the summer, winter, or academic year. Applicants must currently receive a Federal Pell Grant, or provide proof that they will be receiving a Pell Grant during their study abroad term. The deadline for the next Gilman application cycle is March 6, 2025.

The scholarship is open to undergraduates:

  • In good academic standing who receive the Pell Grant
  • Are U.S. citizens with limited financial means to study or intern abroad

Applicants must also be enrolled as an undergraduate student during their study abroad program.

Online registration is required to attend. A Zoom invitation with meeting ID and password will be emailed to each registrant before the start of the info session.

If you have questions, please onsa [at] honors [dot] umass [dot] edu (subject: Gilman%20Scholarship) (email ONSA). We look forward to meeting you there!
