Upcoming Information SessionsInternational Relations and Foreign Service at Georgetown University
- Thursday, October 2, 4 PM, virtual (a zoom link will be sent to registrants a couple of hours before the session)
- The International Scholars Program in the Commonwealth Honors College hosts a virtual session on graduate programs in international relations and foreign service at Georgetown University.
- Dr. George Shambaugh, Professor and Director of the Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program, and Ryan Arey, Director of Admissions and Fellowships- MSFS, will share information about graduate programs at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (SFS). They will share tips about applying to graduate school and discuss what it is like to study international affairs in the nation's capital. Additionally, they will discuss career paths in the fields of foreign service and international relations.

- The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means, who are often underrepresented in study abroad, to study or intern abroad.

Truman Scholarship Foundation
- Wednesday, September 17, 12-1 PM, virtual (a zoom link will be sent to registrants a couple of hours before the session)
- The Truman Foundation awards 60-65 scholarships annually to college juniors who wish to pursue graduate school in preparation for careers in public service.

Barry Goldwater Scholarship
- Monday, September 22, 12-1 PM, virtual (a zoom link will be sent to registrants a couple of hours before the session)
- Goldwater Scholarships support students with a passion for research and potential to contribute to their disciplines, and who plan to pursue a graduate degree. Up to 300 U.S. students will be selected each year for scholarships of up to $7,500/year.

- Rising seniors and seniors are eligible to apply for Fulbright scholarship, which funds one year of MS programs abroad, independent research projects and English Teaching Assistantships ETA.
- Campus pre-applications are accepted on a rolling basis before June 1.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program Overview

- This applicant webinar (offered by Fulbright) will cover the program eligibility, award types, and application components. In addition to hearing from program staff, Alumni Ambassadors will share application tips and first-hand accounts of their grant experiences.
McCall MacBain Scholarship for graduate programs in Canada
- Monday, May 5, 1-2 PM, virtual (a zoom link will be sent to registrants a couple of hours before the session)
- This scholarship provides a fully funded master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University in Montréal, Canada.
Truman Scholarship for public service
- Monday, May 5, 4- 5 PM, Honors Hub (CHC Admin building, 2nd floor)
- We encourage qualified current sophomores to explore the possibility of applying for the Truman Scholarship, which funds graduate studies in public service-related fields.
- The application opens in the fall semester and is geared toward juniors or 3rd-year students with a senior standing.
- This opportunity is open to students from all majors.
- We would like to identify current and competitive sophomores early to work with them for the application which is due in the fall semester.
