Our alumni achieve great things
We've known for a long time that an education in History is more than reading, writing, and memorizing dates. Our alumni go on to become valuable members of their communities and to forge interesting and innovative careers.
Stay connected
Your History degree from UMass is one of your strongest assets. As an alum, you likely know this. Current students don't often yet realize how many options they have once they graduate. You can help them by signing up to be an Alumni Advisor through the Alumni Advisor Network. Here you can help students with their resumes and offer them career advice. Choose to give just a few hours a year or several hours a month. All contact runs through a conference style system, so advice seekers will not be accessing you directly. You may also use the system yourself to network with other alumni in your field or watch many of the webinars on the site.
We also encourage you to join our group on LinkedIn, UMass Amherst History Alumni & Friends, to connect with other History alumni, find and share information about upcoming events, and more.
Moreover, we welcome submissions from alumni about history, current events, conferences, and more on our official blog, Past@Present.
Past, Present, & Future
Each year, we publish Past, Present & Future, the History Department's newsletter. Faculty, staff, alumni and students contribute articles and photographs that illuminate what the department has accomplished over the past year, and its ambitions for the next year. Read the most recent issue of Past, Present & Future online.
We're always interested in getting updates from alumni. Email your news to communications@history.umass.edu, being sure to include your graduation year and degree, and we'll be happy to include you in our next newsletter. If you have photographs you'd like to contribute to the newsletter, please include them as attachments.
