The first issue of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Undergraduate History Journal is now available!
This is the result of a year-long project developed by the UMass Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta and the National History Honors Society. The student editorial board worked with Prof. Dan Gordon and Prof. Garrett Washington to organize the journal, solicit manuscripts, send them out for peer-review, communicate the outcome of peer-review, and copyedit the revised manuscripts. PhD Student Jason Higgins facilitated the peer-review process by organizing graduate students in our department to act as anonymous reviewers. Please have a look to see the great work that our students have done as editors and as authors!
We will be accepting submissions again next year. If you have written a historical essay, please consider submitting next year! If you are a faculty member, please encourage students who've written historical essays to submit next year.
Many thanks to all involved, and well done UMass History students!
