Since Ken Burns and his production company, Florentine Films, may well be the most significant shaper of modern public memory of U.S. history, Professor Christian Appy was delighted that the Organization of American Historians (OAH) asked him to write a series of articles about the new documentary, The Vietnam War, by Burns and his colleague Lynn Novick. The seven-article series will appear on the OAH blog processhistory.org starting on September 14. The ten-part, eighteen-hour documentary begins Sunday, September 17 on PBS and runs for two weeks.
