March 19, 2020

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

In keeping with campus policy on the coronavirus, the History Department faculty, staff, and graduate teaching assistants and associates are working remotely.

We are continuing our Spring 2020 classes in an online format so that all students can complete their courses this semester and get course credits on time. We are striving to make the course material accessible as we preserve the substance that our expertise ensures. Students' intellectual engagement will not be sacrificed in any format. This time is also an opportunity for wide-ranging reading and creativity in our work.

History students will be in regular contact with their instructors and teaching assistants as well as appropriate department staff. I am also available to address your concerns via email.

We are in a difficult time period. Mutual cooperation and observation of health guidelines will help us get through it. We plan to see you in Fall 2020.

Best wishes,

Audrey L. Altstadt, PhD
