Now in its sixth year, UMass History Journal's 2022 edition was published this spring and features work from six undergraduate students: Robert Cahill, Caitlyn Foster '22, Bret Hackenson, Laura Haskell, Brianna Hastry and Zachary Richards '22. Topics ranged from the purpose of grand narratives to social constructions of womanhood to how Greek mythology impacts youth culture in the U.S. and more. A table of contents and the full text of each article is available on the journal's webpage.

Founded in 2016 by members of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honor society, the UMass History Journal is devoted to showcasing the diverse historical work of undergraduate students.

The editor-in-chief of the 2022 edition was Anthony Colace '22. A political science and history student, Colace was recipient of the Harold W. Cary and Simon & Satenig Ermonian Prizes for undergraduate academic excellence, and plans to attend law school this upcoming fall semester. Rising senior Ellie Costello served as executive editor. A Commonwealth Honors College student with a focus on modern Latin America, Costello is a member of Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society and plans to work towards a master’s degree in Latin American history following her graduation next year. The editorial team also included associate editors Alison Chicca Audette '22, whose work focuses on modern American social history, and James Griffin, a rising junior with interests in Latin American and U.S. history. Professor Daniel Gordon was the faculty advisor.
