Professor Anne Broadbridge’s recent book Women and the Making of the Mongol Empire (Cambridge University Press) has been shortlisted for the British-Kuwait Friendship Society Book Award. This highly prestigious annual prize awards up to £10,000 for the best scholarly work in English on the Middle East which has been published in its first edition in the United Kingdom. 

The prize, now in its 21st year, has HRH The Prince of Wales and Dr Sheikha Sou’ad Al Sabah as its patrons. Broadbridge’s book, which examines women’s contribution to the rise of the Mongol Empire, is one of six shortlisted works.
