Carrie Greene
Masters Student, Public History Student
BACKGROUND
Carrie is an MA student studying European and British History and Public History. She earned her BA in History from Williams College, writing an award winning undergraduate thesis on an 1848 Cholera epidemic at a pauper asylum in Tooting, England. After completing her undergraduate work, Carrie spearheaded the research and oral history components of the Williams Jewish History Project. In her masters work, she is interested in studying nineteenth century Eastern European Jewry with a focus on issues of immigration, community health, local politics, education, and female agency. She currently serves on two non-profit boards in her community, as well as on the boards of both state-wide and district school committees. She lives in Williamstown, MA with her two dogs and a cat. She has two daughters, one of whom is in college, and one who teaches elementary school in New York City.
