2025-26 Editorial Board

Undergraduate Editorial Board:

Logan Moniz, Editor in Chief, is a history/Chinese language & literature double major whose
work focuses on ancient and medieval Chinese history. He is currently conducting research for
his thesis investigating a set of Tang-era tomb guardian figures.


James Sandler, Editorial Board, is a senior majoring in history with a minor in political science
with a focus in education. As a member of the editorial board he helps to review, clarify, and
verify submissions alongside his colleagues.
 

Jonah Scher, Editor in Chief, is a history major and political science minor whose work focuses
on the Cold War, East Germany, and modern Latin American history. Scher is currently
researching for his thesis on representations of the Holocaust and the Second World War in East
German film.
 

Catherine Wan, Editor in Chief, is a history and legal studies double major whose work focuses
on modern Chinese history and the Asian American diaspora. Wan is currently serving on the
executive board of the UMass Asian American Student Association as President.
Jared Parks, Editorial Board, is a history major and education minor focusing on modern US
foreign policy, the Vietnam War, and labor history. Parks is also interested in music, particularly
the history of jazz.
 

Christopher Warner, Editorial Board, is a Middle Eastern Studies Major focusing on the
contemporary histories of Iran, Lebanon, Syria, and Armenia. Of particular interests are Iran
under Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, 1950s Lebanon, Baathist Syria under Hafez al-Assad, and
post-independence Armenia.
 

Lauren Budd, Editorial Board, is a biochemistry and molecular biology and German double
major who has a passion for writing. Budd is currently pursuing interdisciplinary interests that
combine science and the humanities, with a particular attention to scientific research and history.
 

Lucy Howard, Editorial Board, is a history major with particular interest in postcolonial studies.
Howard is currently working on a thesis examining the experiences of children during the
French-Indochina war.
