BACKGROUND
Katlyn is a Ph.D. student in the Department of History, and is also pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Public History with an oral history track. She spent this past summer digging through whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg's papers as a research assistant for Dr. Appy, and interning for "Made By History," a historical analysis section of The Washington Post. Her master's thesis explores past and present violence in the Southern Baptist Convention with a focus on institutional betrayal, white supremacy, and patriarchy.
