Amelia Yeager received her bachelor’s degree in English from Kenyon College. She is interested in genealogy, material culture, and free and unfree labor in the early Atlantic and the legacies of rural labor and craft in cultural history. During a Buchanan Burnham fellowship at the Newport Historical Society, she began to research the free African community in early 19th-century Newport, RI, and will continue her work on manumission and community-building after slavery. After graduation, Amelia looks forward to a career in communicating shared histories and narratives of resilience.
