Who we are.

The College of Humanities and Fine Arts is only as excellent as the people who keep our classes engaging, our students goal-oriented, our offices running smoothly, and our research and creative activity on the forefront. Our work depends on a team of dedicated staff and experienced faculty, many of whom are interternationally recognized in their fields.

College leadership—made up of the dean and associate deans and department heads and chairs—plans, guides, and directs HFA's student-oriented mission.

We work to inspire our students. In turn, they inspire us with their ability to explore established schools of thought and form new ideas. These students move on to a myriad of careers, shaping new realities in the world around them by applying the passion and skills they garner at UMass Amherst. For evidence of our students' post-graduate success, one need only look toward HFA's diverse, creative, far-reaching, and accomplished alumni network.
