The Department of Music and Dance presents the UMass Wind Ensemble and UMass Concert Band in "Of Hard and Soft Edges," directed by Matthew Westgate and Timothy T. Anderson.

The Concert Band program will include Chance's Variations on a Korean Folk Song, Nelson's Courtly Airs and Dances (Matthew Sypek, graduate conductor), Pryor's Blue Bells of Scotland (Greg Spiridopoulos, trombone), Boysen's I Am (Jared Bloch, graduate conductor), and Goldman's Golden Gate March(edited Anderson).

The Wind Ensemble program will include Adams' Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Ives/Elkus' Decoration Day, Maslanka's  Piano Concerto No. 3"Do you know my name?"(Nadine Shank, piano - New England premiere), Strauss' Serenade in E-flat, Op. 7 (Matthew Sypek, graduate conductor), and Hindemith's Symphony in B-flat major.

Admission: $10 for General Public, $5 for students and seniors, Free for UMass students
