Research in Music Series: André Redwood
André Redwood, Lecturer in Music Theory at UMass Amherst, is a music theorist and historian of music theory. He specializes in the intellectual, cultural, and social history of music theory, with emphases on the relationship between music and rhetoric and on music theory in the Scientific Revolution. His talk as part of the Research in Music Series is entitled "Combinatorics, Composition, Copia: Mersenne's Mathematics and the Erasmian Impulse."
