Join the FCWSRC (Five College Women's Studies Research Center) for our first book salon of the year with Britt Rusert, Assistant Professor of Afro-American Studies at Umass Amherst, and discussants Steve Dillon, Sarah Patterson, Kevin Quashie, and Andrea Stone. The book salon will be a discussion on the novel, Fugitive Science: Empiricism and Freedom in Early African American Culture by Britt Rusert. Fugitive Science exposes the influential work of a group of Black artists to confront and refute scientific racism.
