2022 Voice Area Open House and Mock Auditions

Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, 10am - 1pm, Bezanson Hall  FREE

Welcome! The 2022 UMass Voice Area Open House and Mock Auditions will be held in person this year at UMass Amherst. This event is free of charge and open to high school students and their families, as well as voice teachers. Our Voice Area students pursue diverse degrees including Minor in Voice, the Bachelor of Arts in Applied Voice, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a BM in Voice Performance. Many of our former students have gone on to full-time jobs as music educators, while others are pursuing their MM in Performance at Juilliard, Peabody Conservatory, Baylor University, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan. 

The day's events will include a panel discussion about the collegiate voice audition, a Q&A session, a short break for doughnuts and mock auditions. The morning's activities will end at around 12:30, and then visiting students will have the opportunity to have lunch (at their own expense) with current UMass music students at a nearby dining hall.

Any student interested in taking a mock audition should indicate that on the registration form.
