Languages, Literatures and Cultures

The Department of Language, Literatures, and Cultures is committed to the exploration and analysis of languages and cultures around the world. Graduates leave the program with a wealth of international knowledge and experience that will enrich their lives and give them an edge in nearly every professional field.

Students can choose from a variety of languages and cultures to focus on, including French, German & Scandinavian, Italian, Slavic, Spanish & Portuguese, and East Asian languages and cultures. The Comparative Literature program examines the complex relationships between interdisciplinary art forms across different cultures. The department also offers an Online Certificate in Translation and Interpreting.
