College-wide Scholarships

Scholarship applications for the 2016-17 academic year will be available beginning mid-January 2016.
The following scholarships are open to students majoring in any HFA Department. 

Please note: a single application is used for all College of Humanities & Fine Arts undergraduate scholarships.  Students should only submit one application in order to be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.

The Class of 1945 Merit Scholarship

The Class of 1945 Scholarship was established in 1997 and is supported by class members' generous contributions.

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or first-semester Senior; have a minimum of thirty (30) graded hours in residence at UMass Amherst; have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average; and have declared their major in a College of Humanities & Fine Arts department.  Preference will be given to students who are members of the Marching Band.


The Henry and Jean Hall Humanities and Fine Arts Scholarship

The generosity of Henry and Jean Hall led to establishment of this scholarship, which is an expression of their interest in and affection for UMass Amherst.

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or first semester Senior; have a minimum of thirty (30) graded hours in residence at UMass Amherst; have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average; have declared their major in a College of Humanities & Fine Arts department; and have demonstrated financial need.


HFA Dean's Acheivement Award

Alumni and friends of the College of humanities and Fine Arts contribute to two funds in the Dean's Office that provide these merit-based awards.

Eligibility requirements: Applicants must be a current Sophomore, Junior, or first semester Seniror; have a minimum of thirty (30) graded hours in residence at UMass Amherst; have a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average; and have declared their major in a College of Humanities and Fine Arts department.
